Ashes Review: Shout-Out to Zillion

Mending Stars - Ashes - Album Artwork Shoutout

Big thanks to Zillions Magazine for the fresh spotlight on “Ashes.” They nailed the core vibe in one killer line:

"Mending Stars turns a childhood rhyme into a reckoning on “Ashes”."

That hits exactly what I was chasing . . taking that eerie “Ring around the Rosie” nursery rhyme darkness and flipping it into something heavier: trap beats driving forward, industrial flares giving it that cold metallic edge, all while the emotion sits raw in the wreckage. Standing in the ashes after everything burns, deciding what remains.

Their words make me feel seen on this one.

This track started as a quick back-of-the-napkin idea, but turning the rhyme into trap with crisp, unforgiving production felt right for the mood . . polished enough to cut, but never hiding the hurt underneath. Seeing Zillions catch that reckoning energy means a ton, especially so soon after release.

Huge gratitude to them for the feature!

If you've streamed “Ashes” already or check out the review, what stood out to you?
