New Release: 'Light in the Dark' is out now.
This song came from the hardest kind of love there is: watching someone you would give anything for struggle in a darkness so heavy it feels like it could swallow them whole. The words are simple because the feeling is not. They are a quiet reminder from someone who has sat with the fear that the light might go out. The reminder is this: the light is still in you. It has not gone anywhere. It may feel buried. It may feel faint. It may feel impossible to reach right now. But it is there.
It has always been there.
I wanted the song to say what words sometimes fail to carry when the moment is too raw. That the darkness does not get to decide who you are. That even when everything around you feels black, there is still a spark inside that belongs to you alone. That you can find it again. That you can hold it. That you can protect it. That it is worth protecting. That no matter how dark it gets, you are never without that light.
The Weight of Holding On
Holding on when the darkness feels endless is the heaviest thing a person can do. It is not about forcing positivity. It is not about pretending the dark is not there. It is about refusing to let the dark be the only story. It is about remembering that the light does not have to be bright to be real. It just has to be enough to take the next breath. And then the next. And then the next.
You can't have the dark if there isn't also light.
The "Still Here" Perspective
I have learned that love means believing in someone's light even when they cannot see it themselves. I cannot pull anyone out of the darkness. I cannot make the darkness disappear. I definitely cannot carry the weight for them. But I can stay close. I can keep reminding them the light is still inside. I can keep believing in it for them until they can believe in it again. I can keep holding space for the possibility that tomorrow can feel different. Because it can. And because the light never truly leaves.
If you have ever felt surrounded by darkness so thick it was hard to believe any light was left inside you . . if you have ever needed someone to remind you that the spark is still there . . if you have ever had to hold on when letting go felt easier . . this song is for you.
Give it a listen wherever you stream music.
